Dear Mr Bob Page,
I must apologize
to you for misjudging KU Med Center because of a mistake they made with me. I
saw a compassionate team of doctors and nurses that changed my heart. No pun
intended. Shelley is going home with
good news.
She has knowledge of the
medication to take care of her high blood pressure and cholesterol. God gave
her the right doctor. His name is Dr. David Wilson, the same name as Shelley's
father. Right before she left, a nurse full of joy walked in and asked "is
this the Shelley I know"? She, like me, is a client and friend. I love
small world stories. Shelley tells me a story of her cousins Bill & Rob
Senneff who are both hospital CEO’s and both went to KU. She was able to find
them after being adopted as a child. They are all very close now. Then you have Teresa Hoskins, Shelley's nurse. Do you remember her? She told me how
wonderful and kind you had been when you were a patient of hers, asking her to
call you Bob. She said I told him, “yes
Mr. Page”. She was one of the most caring and joyful people. She told me
how her father taught her to respect authority. She told me that her Dad had
thyroid cancer when she was a teen and that Shawnee Mission Med screwed up and
only took half the thyroid out. He then required a second surgery. He is now a
cancer survivor. I ran into a
friend who I know her as “C”, short for Cecelia. She now works for KU as an interpreter
and gets around quite well on four wheels. She has helped hundreds of head and
neck injury patients. I will conclude with what Dave Wilson said, “we are all
human but Dr. Girod has every bit as good of a team as I do and is a wonderful
doctor. I could not have agreed more.
Sincerely,
Michael Johns
